Agroamerica is one of the largest banana producers in Guatemala and in the world. The company has approximately 8,000 growers in Guatemala and approximately 5,500 hectares of banana plantations, which comprise more than one-fourth of the banana exports from Guatemala.

As independent company, Agroamerica has the quality certificate ISO 14001. The ISO 14001 is the international standard issued by the International Standards Organization (ISO) to farms that wish to establish, document, implement, maintain and continually improve an environmental management system. Furthermore, the company is part of the Rainforest Alliance’s Better Banana Project (BBP), the leading international, environmental, and social standards certification program for banana farms.

In addition to being a competitive company, Agroamerica also demonstrates an interest in the welfare of its employees, the community, and the environment.

Agroamerica’s banana production also represents a large percentage of the global volume sold by such large multinational companies as Dole Fresh Fruit Company, Del Monte, and Chiquita to supermarkets and retailers in the United States and Europe. Their clients include Super Target, Walmart, HEB, Costco, ASDA, among others.
