Rambutan

The rambutan is a fruit described by experts as a relative of one of the seven finest and most delicious fruits of the world.

Agroamerica has approximately 200 acres of rambutan plantations, employing approximately 25 permanent employees and 60 seasonal employees. These farms currently represent only a small percentage of the rambutan grown in Guatemala because our plantations are still in development, but it is expected that by 2011, we will increase our domestic production to the point of becoming one of the major rambutan growers in the region.

The vast majority of production is sold to distributors for export. This amount is expected to increase in the coming years.
